Beach Plastic Challenge
Plastics: Remaking Our World opens here at the museum on October 29 and explores the story of plastic in various forms – including looking at plastic waste on beaches across Scotland.
This is where we need your help, we’re asking coastal primary schools across Scotland to help us identify and gather the objects that will be used in either the exhibition or the associated learning programme.
This can be completed as a whole class (or whole school in some cases), by your Eco group, or by a small group of pupils. It could even be set as a summer holidays task or school summer club activity!
This is a great opportunity for pupils to learn about issues surrounding marine plastics and litter, as well as exploring how museum exhibitions are curated.
We’d love to see as many schools across Scotland as possible named as contributors to this new exhibition.
Download the PDF's below for more information and how to get involved:
Please send us images of the objects you're going to send by 2 September and post them to us by 30 September to be included in the exhibition!
