Design History: Furniture Design

Explore historic furniture and discover how it influences furniture design today

This session brings together David Jones, an expert on the historic tradition of working with laburnum wood, with Angus Ross, a contemporary designer who works with Scottish oak sourced from his own woodland to explore materials, making and design.

These monthly informal sessions, with a different focus each month, are led by a Design Historian and will introduce you to Scottish and international design history, including major designers, architects, design movements, styles, techniques and the language of design. Curated by Polly Duplock, Senior Lecturer at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and Design Historian, David Jones.
