Flipping the script on a manmade world

Celebrating the work of over 200 designers from more than 50 countries, Woman Made: Great Women Designers (Phaidon, 2021) is an A to Z compendium of pioneering women in design — past, present, and future. The book records and illuminates the fascinating and overlooked history of women preeminent in the field, shining a vital spotlight on the most extraordinary objects made by female designers.

Join author Jane Hall, in conversation with our Creative Programmer Nichol Keene, to explore the book and some of the great women and designs featured.

Jane Hall is the inaugural recipient of the British Council Lina Bo Bardi Fellowship (2013) and a founding member of Assemble, the London-based, Turner Prize-winning collective. Jane’s own projects within the collective focus on collaborative practice between artists and architects, explored through exploratory installation and exhibition design. She is also the author of Breaking Ground: Architecture by Women published by Phaidon in 2019.

Nichol Keene is a writer and Creative Programmer at V&A Dundee curating public programmes for major exhibitions and more.
