Design History: Colour and Texture

Hear from contemporary designers about how texture and colour inspire their practice

Bute Fabrics, located on the Isle of Bute, talk about their history and passion for colour and texture while contemporary Scottish designer Dean Brown reflects on his design influences and how important colour is in his design process.

With a different focus each time, this monthly event explores Scotland’s rich design history. The series will look at historical examples of design, as well as how history influences contemporary designers. Most sessions feature two speakers making fascinating connections between the past and present.

Curated by Polly Duplock (Senior Lecturer, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design) and David Jones (Design Historian).
