A very exciting aspect of the project and one that I am very proud to announce is that as an homage to the catalogues they produced for Yohji Yamamoto in the late 1980s, Peter Saville is on board creating the graphic art direction for the book, marketing and exhibition and fantastic Nick Knight has produced the lead image. This image (to be revealed later on), draws inspiration from one very iconic photograph they produced together in 1986 called the red bustle.
Earlier this year, I was there when Nick shot the first part of the image with 10 chosen silhouettes from Yohji Yamamoto’s archives. See some snaps of the shoot in action: Styled by Katie Grand and Hair by Martin Cullen it was a pleasure to watch it all come together.
