Work-based learning programmes
We offer work-based learning programmes including Work Experience weeks, Internships and Apprenticeships.
Work Experience
Our work experience weeks are for young adults aged 16-19 years wishing to experience and learn more about career options at the V&A and wider cultural heritage sector.
Internships
At the V&A an internship is a paid educational and development opportunity providing practical experience in a particular field or discipline. Internships can apply to students, fellows, and academics from educational institutions, as well as individuals on secondment from other organisations.
Apprenticeships
Apprentices earn a salary and work alongside experienced staff to gain job-specific skills. Apprentices train towards a nationally recognised qualification, which can take between one and four years to complete.

Volunteering
Volunteers play an important role at the V&A, contributing their time, skills and ideas to bring the collection to life and support activities behind the scenes.
All of our volunteering roles are carefully developed to prioritise the experience of volunteers, and offer meaningful opportunities for you to do something that matters. Volunteering is currently open to anyone 18 and older.
Please note that at certain times there may be no opportunities available. We are unable to accept applications outside of specific advertised roles, but we will update the listings frequently.
