Live Conversations: Digital Worlds and A New Type of Artist photo

Sit in on a conversation between legal scholar, Blockchain Researcher, Internet activist and artist, Primavera De Filippi and visual artist, composer and designer, Espen Kluge, joining us from Norway, as they discuss how digital worlds have created space for a new type of artist. This online discussion will explore innovative ways in which artists use technology as a tool to enable new forms of expression.

This online discussion will be co-hosted by V&A Youth Collective member Rayhan. Live Conversations are devised in collaboration with the V&A Youth Collective exploring topical themes important to the group.

This free event is aimed at 16-24 year olds. Book a ticket to get details on how to join the Zoom event.

The V&A Young People's Programme is supported by Fondation d’entreprise Hermès.

Espen Kluge, born in Norway 1983, is a visual artist, composer and designer. As a digital visual artist, Espen's work span digital 2D paintings, digital 3D art to works that are generated purely in code. His recent works are focused on generative portraiture coded in Javascript. Works from his portrait series of 100 generative portraits called 'alternatives' are available as non-fungible-tokens (NFT's) at SuperRare and in print. The whole series was exhibited for the first time physically at Kate Vass Galerie Oct. 30th, 2019 - Feb. 25th, 2020, and a smaller selection was aquired by M○C△ (Museum Of Crypto Art) and exhibited digitally in Somnium Space in may 2020. He also creates generative interactive works and non-generative visual art, most of it digital.
