This summer, in anticipation of Notting Hill Carnival 2024, we invite you to join us at the V&A to honour and celebrate the cultural and historical significance of our Sound Systems Stories. To help us piece together this narrative, we are delighted to welcome award-winning veteran Sound System operator, Gladdy Wax. Marking his 35th anniversary at Notting Hill Carnival this year, and with over six decades in the business, Gladdy will be sharing his own musical memories - revealing the sounds that shaped and defined his life and career. He will also be selecting a special pre-Carnival DJ set for your listening pleasure. REACH!

We are delighted to open the evening with the multi-media presentation Who can’t hear, must feel by writer, artist / curator, and scholar Dr Michael Mcmillan.
